I have environmental and biology experience with the Department of Interior/Bureau of Reclamation studying salmon population survival rates. I have experience tutoring psychology to college students at Orange County Community College and volunteering time with elementary students teaching fun science facts. I currently hold a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield where I majored in environmental studies and minored in public health. I studied a wide range of subjects including biology, sustainability, conservation, forestry, climate change, epidemiology, chemistry, and geology.
Helping students manage homework assignments, study for test, and become fascinated with the environment are all reasons why I love tutoring. It's exciting when others start to develop good study skills and gain an interest in STEM.
I have experience working with salmon in the wild and at a fishery monitoring health and survival population rates. As a biological technician I went to elementary schools as an outreach program and discussed with the student’s environmental impacts on salmon, the life of a salmon, and the biological positions with Bureau of Reclamation. Subjects that I am very familiar with include the biology of salmon and lamprey, lab procedures, water conservation, land management, and geology.
