I have worked at the same elementary school for over 20 years. During my time there I have worked with students from all backgrounds and have a great deal of experience with English Language Learners. I incorporate English Language Learner strategies in all my lessons. During one-on-one lessons I incorporate Fountas and Pinnell LLI lessons that include word study, writing about reading, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. This helps students be prepared for a balance literacy approach in the classroom for the upcoming school year.
In math I focus on all Common Core standards, review what they have learned, and preparing them for the upcoming school year.
