I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Northern Illinois University, where I am also pursuing minors in Computer Science and Japanese Studies. Prior to transferring, I graduated from Rock Valley College with an Associate of Science, earning a 4.0 GPA and graduating with Highest Honors.
I have over a year of professional tutoring experience as both a Peer Tutor and an Embedded Tutor at Rock Valley College's Tutoring Center. In these roles, I worked with high school dual-enrollment students, traditional college students, and adult learners in both one-on-one and small-group settings. I regularly tutored subjects including algebra, precalculus, calculus, differential equations, introductory physics, C++ programming, electrical circuits, and other STEM coursework.
My tutoring philosophy is centered on helping students truly understand the material rather than simply memorize procedures. I encourage students to think through problems step by step, ask questions freely, and develop confidence in their own problem-solving abilities. I tailor my explanations to each student's needs and strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
Having recently completed many of these courses myself with excellent academic performance, I understand the challenges students face and can explain concepts in a relatable, approachable way while emphasizing the fundamental reasoning behind each solution.
