I have a Master of Science in Accounting and Data Analytics and a bachelor's in Accounting with a co-major in Business Analytics. I have a Master of Science in Accounting and Data Analytics and a bachelor's in Accounting with a co-major in Business Analytics. Those programs covered financial accounting, managerial accounting, corporate finance, valuation, and financial modeling in depth, and I have stayed close to that material since graduating.

I have worked as a teaching assistant at the university level, where I ran help sessions for students coming in at very different levels of comfort with the material, and I have tutored college students and working adults one on one. Most of my experience is with college students, though I am comfortable with high school students in intro accounting or Excel.

I tutor financial and managerial accounting, intermediate accounting, corporate finance, and Excel at every level, from basic formulas and formatting up through pivot tables, lookups, and full financial models. Excel is usually where students see the fastest improvement, and it is the piece that carries over into whatever they do next.

I do not lecture. I ask students to walk me through their thinking, find the exact step where it breaks, and fix that step. Most people come to me stuck on one specific thing, like why the cash flow statement never ties or why their lookup formula keeps erroring out, and my job is to get them unstuck and make sure it does not happen again.

Approved Subjects

Business

Business

I hold an MS in Accounting and Data Analytics and a BS in Accounting with a co-major in Business Analytics, so my background covers both the accounting and the analytics sides of a business curriculum. I have served as a teaching assistant at the university level, running help sessions for students with very different levels of technical background, and I have tutored college students and working adults one on one. I tutor general business coursework including intro business, business analytics, and the accounting and finance components that most business students find hardest. My approach is to start from the problem the student is actually stuck on and work backward to the concept, rather than re-teaching a chapter they have already read.
Finance

Finance

I hold an MS in Accounting and Data Analytics and a BS in Accounting with a co-major in Business Analytics, both of which covered corporate finance, valuation, and financial modeling in depth. I have served as a teaching assistant at the university level and have tutored college students and working adults one on one. I tutor introductory and intermediate corporate finance, including time value of money, discounted cash flow, cost of capital, capital budgeting, capital structure, and valuation. I am comfortable working through both the concepts and the spreadsheet mechanics behind them, since students usually need to see how a formula on the page turns into a model that actually runs.
Financial Accounting

Financial Accounting

I hold an MS in Accounting and Data Analytics and a BS in Accounting, and financial accounting was the core of both programs. I have served as a teaching assistant at the university level and have tutored college students one on one in accounting coursework, usually with people who know the rules but cannot see how the three statements connect. I am comfortable across the full introductory and intermediate sequence, including journal entries, accruals and deferrals, inventory, receivables, fixed assets, and the statement of cash flows. My approach is to have the student walk me through their own work so I can find the exact step where it breaks, rather than re-teaching a chapter they have already read.
Managerial Accounting

Managerial Accounting

My MS in Accounting and Data Analytics covered managerial accounting in depth, and my undergraduate degree was a BS in Accounting with a co-major in Business Analytics. I have served as a teaching assistant at the university level and have tutored college students one on one in accounting coursework. When I tutor managerial, I focus on the places students usually lose the thread: contribution margin versus gross margin, choosing an allocation base, job and process costing, variance analysis, and working out which costs are actually relevant to a decision. I have the student work through problems while I watch, because the mistake is usually in how they set the problem up rather than in the arithmetic.
Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel

Excel and data work were core to my MS in Accounting and Data Analytics, and I also hold a BS in Accounting with a co-major in Business Analytics. I have taught Excel to college students and to working adults at very different levels, from people who have never written a formula to people building three statement models, including as a teaching assistant at the university level. I cover lookups, pivot tables, conditional logic, absolute and relative referencing, data cleanup, charting, and how to structure a workbook so it does not break when the inputs change. I teach by having the student work in their own file rather than watching me demo, because the skill only sticks when their hands are on the keyboard.
