I’m Ms. Young, a passionate special education and elementary educator who believes every learner deserves the right tools and encouragement to succeed. I’m currently completing my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education (Dual Licensure) through Western Governors University and will graduate in December 2025. I currently teach in a self-contained classroom for 4th–6th graders with diverse learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and specific learning disabilities. My work focuses on helping students build confidence and independence in reading comprehension, written expression, and math foundations.
I’ve been teaching and tutoring elementary through middle school students for several years, both in-person and online. My sessions are highly individualized, using evidence-based strategies such as explicit modeling, think-alouds, and scaffolded practice to ensure students truly understand what they’re learning. I integrate visual supports, graphic organizers, and technology tools like Microsoft OneNote and text-to-speech software to make learning more accessible and engaging.
I specialize in creating a supportive, structured environment where students feel safe to take risks and celebrate progress. Whether a student is strengthening their reading fluency, organizing their writing, or tackling multi-step math problems, I tailor each lesson to their goals and learning style. Families appreciate my clear communication, progress updates, and realistic practice suggestions that extend learning beyond the session. My goal is always the same—to help students develop the skills, strategies, and self-belief they need to thrive academically and personally.
