I have thrived in the kitchen both domestically and professionally my whole life. My mother was a single parent with her own health issues that commonly slowed her down and left her depleted. Meals such as after school snacks and dinner for my younger brother and mine soon fell on my shoulders at just fourteen years old. I was soon cooking the meals my mother raised us on. Baked chicken, spaghetti, triple meat deli sandwiches, and homemade burger and fries were some of the meals I enjoyed making in my youth. Several years later, in college I got my first experience in a professional kitchen. Working at McAllisters I was a part of the back of house prep team and gourmet spud maker. McAllisters is a chain in the midwest known for their great deli and toasted sandwiches, hand-made loaded baked potatoes, and homestyle soups and sides. After receiving my food handler license I learned how to properly prepare fresh veggies, cook meats at the correct temperature, and how to cook certain foods in large batches such as soup. Throughout my college career, 2011-2016 I continued to work in the food industry. I was also a cook at Red Lobster and California Pizza Kitchen during those years.

Criminal Justice

I have several years of experience analyzing and applying public policy with a focus on how society responds to crime, which has strengthened my understanding of the criminal justice system. With a B.S. in Sociology, I developed core skills in research, interviewing, fact gathering, and interpreting the impact of policies on American society—skills that overlap significantly with criminal justice. Currently, I am enrolled in an ABA-certified paralegal program where I am gaining hands-on knowledge of civil and criminal litigation. My coursework has made me proficient in legal research and writing, case briefing, drafting legal correspondence and pleadings. Data Analysis

Working as an Assistant Program Coordinator at my local YWCA I became an expert in technical expertise and strategic thinking in relation to analyzing data to inform policies that address local social issues such as poverty, education, healthcare, and housing. I played a crucial role in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights. Regularly I would gather data from various sources such as government databases, surveys, and research studies. Next, I meticulously cleaned and organized data, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Validating data, removing duplicates/errors, and standardizing data formats. I mastered statistical software such as R, Python, or SPSS to look for patterns, trends, and correlations in large datasets. Some of my Key tasks included: Conducting regression analyses, creating visualizations to simplify complex data, and interpreting data findings in the context of social issues. Through my work as a data analyst I was able to secure over $100,000 in grant funding by explaining technical findings in layman's terms, providing evidence-based recommendations, and advising on data-driven decision-making.

I myself have been diagnosed with ADHD as.a young adult in college and had to find my own tips and tricks to help me stay focused. I understand everyone's learning style is different and that is seperate from their ADHD diagnosis, I have the ability to help your daughter curate a unique study plan that is just for her. With my help she will actually gain confidence in herself and her ability to learn.

I have a proven track record of helping students refine their writing skills. I am currently pursuing an ABA Paralegal Studies Certification and during the 2023-2024 school year I was a tutor at South Suburban College’s Academic Assistant Center. I used both my legal studies knowledge as well as my advanced skills in academic writing I gained in undergrad while obtaining my B.S in Sociology to assist college students with essay preparation/writing, test-prep, social sciences, and proper research practices. I also worked with freshmen college students back in 2016 during my time as a teacher's aid for Communications 101 my senior year of college.

Government & Politics

I am currently enrolled in an ABA certified paralegal program. My program focuses heavily on analyzing civil policy. Through my studies I have become familiar with the structure of the court system in the United States, as well as able to locate and evaluate appropriate legal authority. I am also proficient with legal citation form and begin to understand how to use it. Legal Writing

I received my Paralegal Certification in 2024. As a Paralegal I write Legal Memorandums, Case Briefs, Contract Terms, Legal Correspondence, etc. Another part of legal writing that I enjoy as a Paralegal is applying the law in a diverse number of ways on a case by case basis. This requires analyzing complex concepts to the point you can break them down to their simplest form to see if said law hurts or helps your case. Knowing how to simplify legal jargon into simple terms for your clients, jurors, readers, etc is essential in legal writing, especially in correspondence being sent outside the firm you are working in. Before becoming a Paralegal I was gaining experience in legal writing as an Assistant Program Coordinator at my local YWCA in 2017. It was common that I had to review and write a formal request asking for permissions to have certain community projects and events. In these requests I would have to explain how the event either did not go against certain local statutes or give a good reasoning why even an event might go against a certain law and that in doing so no hard will come to the local community. I commonly had to write to city officials and demonstrate my legal knowledge on local statutes referring to park recreational events, operating in residential/commercial areas, and proper procedures for booking these events with the city.

I have an inclusive teaching style with a proven track record of helping students comprehend complex ideologies/concepts tutor at my school's Academic Assistant Center. I have been accessing email, organizing calendars, and performing tasks management since 2016. My role as a Youth Program Coordinator I was the main point of communication for multiple teams and went through hundreds or correspondence via Outlook everyday. A couple years later I moved into the healthcare sector performing administrative pharmacy management duties. Again, I utilized Microsoft Outlook to communicate with both internal and external departments to ensure prescription orders were shipped out on time, scheduled meetings, and sent logistic reports to the proper authorities. Presently, my school uses Outlook as our email platform. I operate it daily to stay caught up on both campus activities and exclusive updates for the paralegal studies program I'm currently in.

Microsoft PowerPoint

As a millennial I was introduced to Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint since an adolescent. Starting at elementary school throughout high-school and then college I have mastered PowerPoint for presentations, organizing data, and adding design elements to make a project more appealing. Even now, as a paralegal student PowerPoint is an application I was recently re-trained on because it is used daily in a lot of firms and businesses .

Additionally, understanding requirements for both medicare and medicaid insurance helps determine which geographical areas to expect more influx of patients with those type of insurances will be. Currently, I'm still using my sociology degree while pursuing my paralegal certification. Policy/law and order, is strongly based on understanding the sociological breakdown of a society. Categories under the sociological umbrella include economics, psychology, and social work, understanding the specifics of said studies helps apply proper laws, programs, and resources that a community might need in order to thrive.

The goal was to help raise the confidence in middle and high school aged girls who were having a hard time in school or socially. Whether it was their grades, behavior, or a mix of the two our program aimed to make the girls feel heard and together we came up with solutions that resulted in long-term changes. Covering mainly social studies/humanities, english/language-arts, and test-prep by the end of the program there was an overall 80% increase in grade point average throughout the program. One of the requirements to participate is maintaining a 2.5 grade point average and unfortunately every season there were a handful of girls who were falling behind in school and in jeopardy of not being eligible. I took on my own study group of three students tailored towards language arts and comprehension. I required weekly sessions that took place on the weekend. They were on average two to three hours long where I assisted my students with homework assignments as well as gave them small tasks to do in their everyday life without added stress, making learning fun and relatable.
