Hi! I'm Kyli, a magna cum laude graduate from Luther College where I double majored in Chemistry and Music. Hi! I'm Kyli, a magna cum laude graduate from Luther College where I double majored in Chemistry and Music. While at Luther, I worked for the chemistry department as a lab assistant and served as the Vice President of Chemistr7 Club during my senior year. My friends enjoyed studying with me because of my ability to explain concepts differently than they had been presented in lecture, and I ended my undergraduate career with a 3.94 GPA. During my time at Luther, I took advanced general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, advanced inorganic chemistry lab, advanced physical chemistry lab, physical chemistry, separations, spectroscopy, and completed a senior honors research project.

I am currently working as a teaching assistant while pursuing a PhD in Chemistry; in that role, I have had experience leading both labs and discussion sections as well as group study sessions during office hours. My TA experience has involved general chemistry II, biochemistry, and organic chemistry. The most recent student that I tutored was ready to drop General Chemistry II, but he desperately needed the course to continue on to PA school. He worked hard during our sessions, and ended the semester with a B. I have also received positive feedback from my past students through evaluations. Some of them have said that they learn better from me than their professor!

I am working towards a PhD is because I want to be a Chemistry professor so I can continue to train the next generation of researchers and doctors. I want to help students understand the material, and sometimes that requires explaining concepts in a variety of ways until one makes sense.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need help understanding chemistry! If you are frustrated with a course, you may be surprised by how much you can learn when things are taught from a different perspective outside of lectures. I am more than willing to help you succeed in chemistry, so please don't hesitate to reach out.
