Hello! My name is John, and I'm a recent graduate from the University of Chicago, where I studied public policy (statistics, economics, writing). I'm the son of an English professor, so in addition to more math-y subjects, I also tutor in English and writing.
I have extensive travel and work experience abroad, including in Asia, West Africa, Latin America, and Europe. I speak French, Spanish, and Wolof (the local language in Senegal), and use them all professionally. I also worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Chicago, TA-ing 11 courses.
I've taken statistics at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate level, and have worked supporting randomized controlled trials for the World Bank.
I studied French and Spanish in high school and college, and I lived/worked in France, francophone West Africa, and Costa Rica.
I was offered a position as a writing tutor at UChicago, but I had to turn it down because of prior commitments as a teaching assistant. I'm also the son of an English professor, so good grammar, strong writing, and a love for the English language is something that I grew up with.
Thank you all for considering me as a tutor! There are few things I love more than teaching.
