Hi, I'm Peter! I’ve been tutoring since 2020. Since then, I’ve helped countless students improve their grades and understanding in math and physics courses, both at the high school and college level. Many of my high school students have gotten 5s on their AP exams, and gone on to reputable universities. I got my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley, minoring in Theater and Performance Studies. I’ve always had a passion for learning and understanding new things, and I want to bring that joy and passion to other people!

As an engineer, I've developed a strong understanding and command of Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Physics, and their applications to real world problems. I’ve developed the ability to communicate that knowledge effectively through my theater experience. My approach to tutoring usually involves real world applications of concepts being taught, then teaching the ability to generalize and abstract the problem into its core, solvable components. I also understand that tutoring is a learning experience for myself: I need to learn the best way to teach each student. As such, I make sure to revise and adapt lesson plans as I continue to teach a student, tailoring the learning experience to best suit them.

I want to help the students with whom I work as much as possible. Furthermore, I hope to aid my students in finding the same curiosity and passion for learning as I have! Please feel free to contact me with further questions, or to schedule a lesson!

Mechanical Engineering

I've completed undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at UC Berkeley, with a cumulative GPA of 3.75. I've applied engineering knowledge to a number of projects, including a self-erecting pendulum, the chassis and suspension of a super-mileage vehicle (as a member of Cal Super Mileage Vehicle Team), establishing a control scheme for an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone), and more. My area of expertise lies primarily in controls, control theory, and aviation, but I have a solid understanding of and ability to teach most undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses.

Exceptional Calculus Tutor!

Peter has been an amazing calculus tutor for my daughter. He’s great at explaining difficult concepts, as well as incredibly patient and encouraging. He has helped build her confidence and given her the tools to really understand the material. We’re so grateful to have found him!

Great tutor!

Our daughter really enjoyed working with Peter. He was very knowledgable and easy to work with. We have a child who likes to say she knows the subject, but once questioned its easy to see she doesnt. Peter worked well with us to review the items he just explained and make sure she really ACTUALLY did get it. Would definitely recommend!

very nice!

We went over limits and he was very patient and helpful in teaching me the concepts I didn't understand. He was able to explain things multiple times to me if need be and was able to get through every problem I needed help with.

Great tutor!

Peter has helped my daughter review material for exams, re-teaching and re-enforcing classroom content until she understands. Her self-confidence in math is really improving, as are her scores!

Dependable and flexible

Peter is the all around "total package" tutor! He is so knowledgeable in "all things" calculus and is able to make sense of hard material efficiently. ...................................

Great Tutor!

Peter was a great Calculus I tutor! He met me in-person at a Chicago Public Library. He was patient and very knowledgeable. I will be using him again whenever possible.

My son said his session for AP Physics was very helpful. Peter's explanations were clear and helped his understanding of the subject. He will definitely be scheduling more sessions.

Great session

Peter’s knowledge, pedagogy and pace was perfect for me. We have an unstructured curriculum at school and I feared gaps in Calculus but with Peter I feel confident
