Jake I. is a Chicago based guitarist, producer, and instructor. As a graduate of Berklee College of Music, Jake is well versed in a variety of genres including jazz, pop, and r&b, With his expertise, Jake performs regularly with some of Chicago’s top musicians in wedding bands around the city. Jake is also 1/2 of an alternative pop duo which has been featured on Chicago’s Q101.1 and has played sold out shows at some of Chicago’s most legendary venues such as Schubas, Martyr’s and the Beat Kitchen.
As an educator, Jake will help develop the student’s personal goals of musicianship by helping them find their own voice and expression in music. Jake’s passion for exploring different rhythms and sounds in music will open a creative door for students to critically think about different musical ideas and approaches. Jake believes that students need to be well versed in harmony, theory and rhythm, and he will develop a student’s skill whether he or she is interested in professional musicianship or just to play for fun!
