Hello, my name is Tai, I'm a 4th year undergraduate at the University of Chicago studying English. I have three years of work experience as an elementary school student teacher and tutor at City Elementary, a school for students with diverse learning and developmental needs. I have additional experience as a private tutor in ACT and SAT testing and college essay writing and as an academic summer camp counselor. I've worked in two classrooms teaching 5-13 year olds for the past three years teaching reading, writing, and math, along with the important interpersonal and developmental skills that come with learning in a classroom. I make it a goal to provide my students with all around support, seeing the child as complete individuals, offering a patient and supportive space to learn and grow. I prioritize positive reinforcement tactics rather than negative ones.

I value giving students patience, support, and kindness as they navigate their world and believe every kid deserves a space to feel challenged and inspired in their learning and everyday experience. I am passionate about providing children with an education that will not only prepare them for their world but inspire them to know they have an invaluable role to play in it. I would love to get the chance to help families and students navigate this unsettling time and make sure students still receive a quality education.
