Learning should never feel discouraging. My goal is to help every student build confidence while developing the skills they need to succeed. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Criminology from the University of Maryland and am certified in TEFL, TESOL, and Orton-Gillingham Structured Literacy. I am also pursuing certifications in Autism and Special Education to better support students with diverse learning needs.
For over eight years, I have worked with students from early elementary through high school, as well as adult English language learners. My experience includes private tutoring, online instruction, homeschool support, and working with nationally recognized tutoring companies. I specialize in reading intervention, phonics, dyslexia support, reading comprehension, writing, elementary math, ESL, and conversational Spanish. I have extensive experience working with students who have dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and other learning differences, and I believe every student deserves instruction tailored to their strengths and goals.
My teaching style is patient, engaging, and personalized. I use evidence-based strategies, structured literacy, educational technology, games, and visual supports to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. Every lesson is designed around the student's individual learning style while building confidence and independence. I value open communication with families and am happy to discuss your student's goals before scheduling lessons. I look forward to helping each student grow academically while discovering that learning can be both rewarding and enjoyable.
