I have been teaching high school Spanish for more than 30 years at different Chicagoland high schools. I have the required credentials and experience to tutor all levels of Spanish, from Spanish 1 to AP Spanish Language and Culture. I have also served as an AP Reader, meaning that I grade the free-response speaking sections of the AP Exam for students all across the U.S. and other countries where the exam is administered. This has helped me to be able to better serve and prepare my own students for their AP Spanish Language Exam.

Tutoring one-on-one gives me the chance to build a working relationship with the student and get to know them and the best ways to help them. I have tutored many students during my teaching career and I have found it very rewarding. I know that I have been able to boost their confidence with the Spanish language.

My passion for the Spanish language and culture along with my near native fluency and control of the language make me a great choice to be a Spanish tutor. I can easily explain grammar, which many students struggle with, along with strategies to improve reading comprehension and speaking skills. For me it is easy to come up with numerous examples on the spot to be able to clarify any topic that we’re studying. I can usually predict where students might run into problems on a certain topic and help them avoid any confusion.
