My name is Ms. Jennifer L. I am an elementary school teacher, who is still very new to the teaching world. I am currently in my second year of teaching first and second grade. I love being in the classroom, and I know this is the ideal career for me. My patience and ability to show empathy are two of my best qualities, and I feel that like the students I teach, I am also a learner in the classroom. Working with students is something I enjoy, even though it can be a very fast paced and ever changing work environment. No two students are the same, and I love working with each of my students to understand their strengths, weaknesses, interests, and helping them work towards achieving all of their academic ability! In terms of the parents role, I love hearing feedback and tips from parents about their own students as learners, and I cannot wait to meet you and your student, and start helping them down their best academic path!
I am familiar with the CCCSS for math K-6th grade.
I am proficient in many methods to teach telling time, adding, subtracting, multiplication and division along with fractions and many other concepts in early math.
I have taken many psychology courses all throughout my high school and college academic career. I feel comfortable with many of the vocabulary terms, since i use them everyday in my career. I also have a deep interest in the topic and would love to share and explore it with students!
