Whether you’re someone who is just picking up the piano (not literally), learning to sing for the first time, or revisiting these instruments after many years of not playing, I can help you reach your goals by designing unique lessons that cater to your learning style. Lessons are interactive and engaging, blending theory, practice, and creative exercises to keep you motivated.

Whether you're here for regular musical exposure or you're someone who practices extensively outside of lessons, I meet you where you are. Understanding that practice can ebb and flow, we'll move at a pace that suits you. You'll receive constructive feedback and support, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.

While I've been teaching private piano and voice lessons for 8 years, I also taught a modern band class to juniors and seniors through the Chicago Public Schools' Advanced Arts Program. My course covered singing, playing piano, performing in a band, music theory, songwriting, and basic production skills. As a recording artist, I’ve lent my voice to short films, radio, and various musical artists throughout the Midwest. You can hear my voice in radio jingles for the Show Me Today radio show based out of Jefferson City, Missouri.

In college, I also had the opportunity to conduct and direct both traditional choir ensembles and vocal jazz ensembles. With my experience as a singer and director in many ensembles, combined with formal training in music theory and ear training, I can help you learn to sight sing. Alexis is very patient and knowledgeable with her instruction.

Alexis helps my daughters, aged 8 and 6 to learn the piano. She is always patient with them. We have seen some good improvements since they first started taking lessons with her a couple of months ago. I highly recommend Alexis. Knowledgeable and fun

Alexis helped me with vocal warm ups and helped me pick a song for an audition. She then helped me go through the different parts of the song and work on everything, specific notes, and bringing the tracks to my pitch.
