For years now, I have been an avid fan of the NBA and basketball in general. I am currently 23 years old and am the youngest person my age to be working within the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) as an elementary school recess coach, an after school teacher, and a basketball coach. Recently, the 6th grade team that I coached won the CPS city championships handedly—going undefeated and averaging the highest PPG by any team in our conference. Our team was so outstanding that we even outscored the 7th and 8th grade boys in our school, en route to a championship—something that hadn’t been done since 1852.
Fortunately, I did all of this as my first year as a coach and next year I’m already set to be the coach for the team as they advance to the 7th grade—where they get a chance to compete for a state championship, an option not available to them this year.
The reason as to why I’m reaching out to you is because I am trying to broaden my horizon when it comes to understanding the intricacies of coaching and managing teams and basketball related events. I have gotten in touch with the Chicago Bulls, and their ticket department helped my team and I to come to a game and told me if any future opportunities arise they would contact me.
Before Covid-19 I was the manager of a after school program and recess department of Edgebrook Elementary. which required me to work with children from prekindergarten to 8th grade.
During my 3 years working at the school I have taken classes in order to work and understand how to deal with students with special needs.
Every year I have been the basketball coach for the school and have lead them to multiple championship. In deeper contact with the Chicago Bulls to bring students to games.
I have a very goal driven individual who in invested much time into my craft with much experience with a child development certification. Who's role is to have outlook on the game using positive reinforcements to show results.
