I graduated with honors from one of the best high schools in the USA, graduated with honors for an Associates in Mathematics, graduated with honors for a Bachelors of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Mathematics, and have taken postgraduate courses over content and pedagogy for teaching computer science. I have worked with over 100 students through a learning center. We focused on building foundational knowledge and expanding educational horizons. My proudest tutoring moment was helping a ninth grader go from being unable to do two digit subtraction all the way to basic algebra in a year.
I have 4 years experience as a Mathematics teacher to high school students. I have taught Algebra I and II, Geometry, and AP Calculus. My favorite lesson is an exploration where students would findand work with imaginary numbers. I have 1 year experience as a CS teacher, having taught AP CSP.
For your short term needs, I will identify and resolve points of confusion. Students who work with me long term can expect individualized, targeted support. Through my education curriculum, I have learned how to plan lessons. Through my tutoring, I have learned how to plan supports. With my tech background, I can and have built tools specifically suited to the student and application.
