I'm Craig! I'm a PhD student at the University of Chicago researching biochemistry and biophysics. Before this I went to college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated with Honors with a degree in biochemistry and a minor in business. I'm very interested in math and science and love teaching people in these areas. I have found that patiently and clearly walking through concepts and problems works very well in helping students understand new material. However, it is my belief that everyone has their own unique learning style that will help them learn most effectively.

In high school I tutored trigonometry and algebra to fellow high schoolers struggling with their classes. While in undergrad at Madison I tutored physics to other college students who wanted extra help in understanding the material. I did this for a total of three years and the first two years consisted of conventional one-on-one or small group sessions. The last year of my undergrad I was able to move into a new role where I actually taught a supplemental physics class to a group of about 25 students where I would design a lesson plan and create worksheets and problem sets for them to work through with my help. Currently, I tutor fellow graduate students in their coursework which includes biology, physics, statistics, and computer coding.

My goal as a tutor is to help students understand where they are struggling and to instill a framework by which they can efficiently work through challenging problems in the future even without my help. I am open to any and all feedback regarding ways in which I can further help students in this regard!
