I am a current medical student whose love of teaching stems from my deep-seated desire to help students reach their academic and career goals in any way I can. I especially love 1-on-1 tutoring because it allows me to adapt to a student's personality and temperament in order to address his/her particular needs.

In the 10 years I've worked as a tutor and high school biology teacher, I've helped students from 9 to 47 years old reach their educational goals while gaining a deeper appreciation for the "why" and "how" of what they are learning. I know from personal experience how frustrating it can be to hit roadblocks in one's education due to mismatched teaching/learning styles, so I make it my first priority to make sure my students feel listened to and appreciated yet sufficiently challenged.

In addition to my own 9+ years of formal coursework in biology, I taught three levels of high school biology for two years. I understand how complex biology can be, so I strive to make it easier with relatable metaphors, examples, and applications based on a student's particular interests.

I have been tutoring the MCAT for 2 years now, working with dozens of students from all sorts of backgrounds to help them reach their particular goals. Having prepared for the MCAT without any formal prep course, I'm equally comfortable with any of the four sections of the test, and I incorporate strategy and self-confidence even when discussing basic content issues. I have a knack for identifying specific weaknesses and suggesting ways to address them that are cost-effective and beneficial in the long run.
