About Vanessa

Bio

Hi Everyone! I am Miss Vanessa C. and am excited about the opportunity to help you improve your tests scores, your college admission exams, or simply improve your reading and writing abilities! With my background in Social Science education, I am also available for History or Social Studies tutoring for grades 1 and above.

Hi Everyone! I am Miss Vanessa C. and am excited about the opportunity to help you improve your tests scores, your college admission exams, or simply improve your reading and writing abilities! With my background in Social Science education, I am also available for History or Social Studies tutoring for grades 1 and above.

I have spent many years working with kids from all ages and walks of life! I spent 6 years working as a summer camp director with ages 7-12. After that, I student taught and substitute taught for middle schoolers. Then, I spent some time in California again working for middle schoolers. During this job, I really catered to students who needed one-on-one academic and social-emotional intelligence. Then, for the last three years, I was living in Guatemala and teaching English and Social Studies, so I am really a jack of all trades! And I am ready to help you find your passion and love within the world of academics.

I am a certified 6-12 social science secondary education teacher, so that could include improving any of the following subjects: History, Psychology, Geography, Sociology, Politics, Anthropology.

I have also spent time as an English teacher, so I am confident in my abilities to improve your writing, grammar, proofreading, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and assist in your understanding of English if it is your second language.

Sometimes, students simply need some guidance with time-management, organization, and homework completion. This is something I am able to help you with, as well!

Whether you are struggling with concentrating on homework, or you need to improve your SAT/ACT score, work on your grammar and punctuation for those difficult essays, or simply enhance your knowledge on a certain subjects, I can help! As a teacher who likes to laugh and think outside the box, I think we really could get a lot done, but also while having fun while we do it. I hope to hear from you!
