I am a passionate and compassionate individual who loves reading and writing and teaching. With seven years of teaching and tutoring experience, I’ve taught reading classes for private companies, taught English as a second language for Chile’s Department of Education, and, most recently, taught English and A.P. Literature and Composition at a public high school. I absolutely love teaching and tutoring English to students of all ages and with a wide variety of gifts and needs. I also have my LBS1 certification to teach special education.

In order to meet students where they are at, I identify what they specific skills they need to learn and build a plan for them be successful from there. I am a kind, compassionate, and patient teacher; and I work to create a comfortable environment for students to learn. I can provide structured lessons for students as well as collaborative lessons, depending on the student's needs.

I have my TEFL certificate and have taught students preparing to take the TOEFL. I have taught A.P. Literature and Composition. I have proctored the SAT Reading and Writing sections.

I am good at bringing out students' confidence in themselves. I help them learn how to direct their focus and provide the right ratio of genuine praise and helpful feedback.
