I have tutored arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and biology for middle school and high school students. My teaching experience also includes teaching anatomy, physiology, neuroscience and the use of electronic medical records at Rush Medical School. I'm great at recognizing students' individual needs and am passionate about helping students reach their potential and gain confidence in themselves.
My philosophy about teaching is that everyone has it within them to succeed, if given a shot and with hard, but rewarding work.
When I was young, I struggled in math. I understand how frustrating abstract topic such as algebra can be for a beginning student and am empathetic on this topic (don't worry -- I have excellent math skills now!). With that said, I enjoy applying math skills to real world situations and problems, especially to topics that my students enjoy.
I have taught anatomy and physiology at the level of medical school. These topics allow students to see exactly "how they work" and ensuring students' understanding of this topic helps them excel in anatomy. I often employ mnemonic devices to help students learn all the required elements of anatomy.
