When I was in third grade we moved and lived in Italy until I was a junior in high school. I perfected my grammar and continued to study Italian in college, and decided to minor in Italian. I enjoy teaching and cooking, so I often incorporate cooking in my lessons. I also love art, so I will do art project with the children during our lesson, it keeps them focused, helps them really listen, and makes learning fun. Teaching Italian makes me happy!
The Italian language and culture has been part of my life ever since I was born. Speaking, listening, writing, reading, studying, singing, watching Italian TV shows and movies, translating and interpreting either for my family or for my work and now even texting and updating my social media status in Italian, has kept my skills sharp and current. I've taught adult continuing education courses, I have had several private students over the years and have taught little children. I plan to go back to school to earn a teaching certification.
