TEST PREP: I obtained perfect scores on both the SAT and the ACT, as well as 99th percentile results on the PSAT, GRE, and LSAT. I aim to help students maximize their performance on test day through a combination of analytics, neuroscience, and psychology. My lesson plan is tailored for each student, and my approach is highly interactive. And the results speak for themselves; my students' score gains regularly triple or quadruple gains in Kaplan's expensive classroom courses.

I was a National AP Scholar in high school and provide AP test prep to the extent my work schedule allows. Because each AP test covers significant amounts of material, I generally only accept AP students currently or previously enrolled in the corresponding AP course. I recently have prepared students for the Physics, Chemistry, and U.S. Government exams. I obtained scores of "5" on each of those exams and the other five AP exams listed below.

COLLEGE COUNSELING: I formerly worked as an international education consultant and professor, which deeply familiarized me with what colleges seek in applicants. I bring that amassed knowledge to bear in my counseling sessions, where I help students brainstorm, structure their narrative, and polish their final applications to be candid and compelling. My students have gained admission to elite schools including Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Pennsylvania.

ADDENDUM: At Wyzant's suggestion, I here report some of my test results.

SAT: 1600
ACT: 36
PSAT/NMSQT: 231 (old scale, 99th percentile and National Merit Scholar)
GRE: 780V / 780M / 6.0 AWR
LSAT: 177

AP exams with top possible score ("5"):
(1) AP Calculus BC;
(2) AP Chemistry;
(3) AP European History;
(4) AP U.S. Government and Politics;
(5) AP Macroeconomics;
(6) AP Physics B (covering current AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2);
(7) AP U.S. History; and
(8) AP English Language and Composition.

I look forward to sharing more details with you and learning about your goals!

In addition to helping students with their law school courses, I assist prospective students study for the LSAT. My most recent student obtained a 179 (out of 180) on the test, and my average student since 2022 has increased his or her score 23 points between the initial diagnostic test and test day.
LSAT

LSAT

My students have scored up to 179 on the LSAT, with an average reported gain between diagnostic test and exam of more than 22 points. My approach relies exclusively on official Prep Tests, is very empirical, and is tailored to each student. It requires a heavy investment of time and effort on targeted homework outside of scheduled sessions, but the results speak for themselves. I look forward to discussing your score goals and how we might work together to achieve them!
Photography

Photography

I am an international travel photographer with photo portfolios covering six continents (all except Antarctica). In the vein of photography theorists Susan Sonntag and Anne Leibovitz, I believe photography (when well done) can elevate us to now only ex ante respond to our experiences with emotional freshness but post hoc have ethical pertinence by moving hearts and minds. My technical approach focuses on the interplay and intentional use of color and light using natural light to the extent possible but sometimes using diffusers for portrait photography. My specialties are street and wildlife photography rather than studio photography or sports. To the extent a student wishes to learn the technical side of how to use particular cameras and equipment, I am heavily invested in top-line Sony mirrorless cameras and lenses: Sony a7RV and a7RII bodies and G-Master lenses.
PSAT

PSAT

In high school, I won a National Merit Scholarship based on my score from a PSAT that I took cold. I have helped numerous students prepare for the PSAT, SAT, and ACT exams, each of whom subsequently gained admission to his or her top-choice college.

Excellent, Thorough, Well Planned

Christopher tutored my son for the SATs. He was exceptionally thorough and intentional in his approach. He was able, through exercises and practice tests, to determine what areas my son needed to work on and then helped him with strategies to strengthen these areas. Christopher interacted well with my son, was professional and always on time. We highly recommend him!

SAT help on short notice

As a parent we do our best to help our children. My son has been studying for his October SAT with much help provided with many ‘prep’ courses. He needed that extra help a few days prior to the test and I was flustered how can I find someone on such short notice who was academically prepared for such a task. I submitted request to some tutors on Wyzant and was denied as this was difficult due to the short time availability. I was pleased when Christopher "squeezed" my son into his busy schedule and I am happy to say my son was appreciative of the help he gave on some topics that he had trouble with. I am also a professional with a master’s degree unknown to Christopher. 😆 As I reviewed his interaction with my son I had to give five stars for his professionalism, his knowledge and patience throughout the lesson. I am especially grateful to him for accepting my son in such short notice. Thank you Chris and to all who are looking for help academically, I recommend Christopher.

Individualized approach

Chris customized the review based my son’s academic need and availability to meet the overall goal for the summer. My son enjoyed the pace and his approach. This is a challenging summer for my son with other activities taking up most of his time. I am glad that Chris is willing to work with him to individualize the review just for my son!
