Nikki is an artist and photographer located in Chicago. She has taught at Lesley University, Full Sail University and Chicago State University. She obtained an MFA in Photography in 2013. She has spent a decade working as a professional photographer, specializing in portraits lifestyle and advertising, and also remains active as an artist. Nikki is an artist and photographer located in Chicago. She has taught at Lesley University, Full Sail University and Chicago State University. She obtained an MFA in Photography in 2013. She has spent a decade working as a professional photographer, specializing in portraits lifestyle and advertising, and also remains active as an artist. She often shoots medium and large format film for her personal projects, and especially loves using alternative photographic processes and experimental techniques.

Because of these two very different backgrounds, she knows how to teach both fine art and practical photographic techniques. Her experience ranges from digital photography, large format film photography, black and white, lighting, working with color, LightRoom and Photoshop Workflows, book binding, salt printing, platinum printing, cyanotype, Kallitype, video work, teaching DIY photography to brands, portraiture, landscape and she is currently learning about photo embroidery.

I specialize in both digital and analog techniques, including film photography. I have taught Digital Photography at the collegiate level, as well as in a 1-on-1 setting. As a freelance photographer, post editing in programs such as LightRoom and Photoshop are routine, and I have perfected my workflow to share with others.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor!

I’ve used Lightroom for about 3 years and Photoshop for specific tools. Nikki walked through the relationships between the two and introduced me to short cuts, new tools, and ways of organizing that were totally new to me, surprisingly. Further, she was able to demonstrate and then support me in doing work with PS that I’ve wanted to learn. We were lucky enough to have a face to face session, and I plan to sign up for more with her. Very useful, leaving me with a lot to be able to practice until we meet again.
