Hi I'm Conshombia "Connie" for short. I graduated Suma Cum Laude from Savannah State University with a dual degree in Biology and Environmental Science (Premed Major) with a minor in Naval Science. I also hold two Masters and I am currently pursuing an MD at Saint James School of Medicine and a PhD at Walden University. It was my joy of learning that led one undergraduate professor to suggest for me to become a tutor. It was during this period that I discovered a joy for sharing my love for learning with others. After tutoring fellow classmates, I learned that I had a ability to simplify complex concepts for others. It was so enjoyable for me to see that moment when a concept became clear for another student. I found it was extremely satisfying to help fellow colleague understand a concept and it challenged me to learn the concept in multiple ways because each person learns differently.

During my basic sciences studies in medical school, i enjoyed the classroom environment and its atmosphere of learning, but some of my classmates did not share in this vision of understanding. This did not mean in any way that they were unable to understand the information; they just needed extra help. I again found myself in a position to help and I gave it without thought. Tutoring allowed me the opportunity to explain complex problems in a simple manner based on my understanding. It also showed me different avenues to explain concepts to people with a wide array of learning abilities. It is my belief that tutoring is an exchange between the student and the tutor where we both learn from the other. Thus, I have continued to tutor. My additional tutorial experience includes tutor/mentor at the Boys & Girls Club in Maryland, Tutoring varies subjects in medical school, and serving as a tutor/mentor/adviser for the Youth Groups at my church (Spirit of Faith Christian Center in Maryland).

Thus, let's begin a journey to experience the unknown to make it known. I can be easily reached and will quickly respond. Fee

Algebra 1

The key to tutoring math is making the subject or content relatable to something that the person is interested in. Once the person can relate to math then the concepts of algebraic expression for deriving a solution becomes easy and fun. That is what I find easy to do when tutoring math to others. I make it fun!!

The help I was looking for

Conshombia is help my son in the subject of math. I like how Conshombia communicates with my son to get him to understand her. I also like how she constantly gives him confidents in his ability to learn. She also helps me stay up to date with his studies. Conshombia is showing my son how to use the skills he has already learned and apply them to his current math problems. She is also preparing him to take his math test by giving him test taking techniques so he won’t be overwhelmed. Conshombia is a great fit and I’m ecstatic I found her.

Understanding, Flexible, Kind, and Patient

Conshombia was great! I had to make a change to our meeting location at the last minute and she was so cool about it. As a busy mom of 3 kids I really appreciated her flexibility. This was my daughter's first time receiving tutoring services and Conshombia made her feel super comfortable with it. During the session she even shared a healthy snack with my daughter. We look forward to working with her again in the future.
