I hold a bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and a master's degree in Curriculum Studies. I am also a Golden Apple Teaching Scholar with four years of experience teaching high school mathematics. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught Algebra, Geometry, and Financial Algebra to students in both general education and honors classrooms. My educational background and classroom experience have provided me with a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, curriculum development, and instructional strategies that help students succeed at different academic levels.
As a high school mathematics teacher, I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of mathematical understanding. I recognize that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching methods based on their individual needs. When tutoring, I begin by identifying what a student already understands and where they may need additional support. I break down challenging problems into manageable steps, provide guided practice, and use real-world examples to make mathematical concepts easier to understand. I also encourage students to explain their thinking so I can identify misconceptions and help strengthen their problem-solving skills.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have experience providing one-on-one tutoring both in person and online. I have supported students who need help understanding foundational concepts, completing assignments, preparing for assessments, and building confidence in mathematics. My goal is not simply to help students find the correct answer, but to ensure they understand the reasoning behind each step. I strive to create a patient, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing the independence needed to succeed in mathematics.
