I am a dedicated and passionate educator with a strong background in mathematics education. I hold a bachelor's degree in mathematics education and am currently pursuing a master's degree in curriculum studies. As a Golden Apple Teaching Scholar, I am committed to equitable and effective teaching practices that support all learners.
I have four years of experience teaching high school mathematics, where I have worked with students of diverse backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency. My teaching experience includes Algebra, Geometry, and Financial Algebra in both general education and honors settings. I take a student-centered approach, tailoring my instruction to meet individual learning needs through scaffolding, inquiry-based learning, and real-world applications. I believe that building confidence is just as important as mastering content, and I work to create a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and take risks.
Beyond the classroom, I have experience tutoring students one-on-one, both in person and online. Whether supporting struggling learners, reinforcing foundational skills, or challenging advanced students, I adapt my methods to align with each student’s goals. I prioritize conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills, helping students develop strategies that will serve them beyond the classroom. My ultimate goal is to empower students to become independent learners who approach mathematics with curiosity and confidence.
