It is my passion to bring abstract theory into the concrete world and consider the ways in which it affects the world in which we live.
As a longtime student and occasional teacher/tutor, I would love to help you gain more knowledge in subjects related to liberal arts and humanities. It is always my goal to make the information you learn relevant to your other interests. This was my favorite part about teaching - I could get to know my students and teach to them directly. I was able to create lesson plans that spoke directly to my students and thereby help them learn not only about religion, but also about other subjects (such as history, art, and literature) as a web of knowledge instead of an explosion of facts and information. As your tutor, I will do exactly the same thing, as well as prepare you for writing and thinking at a college level.
Although you may find a subject like US History boring at first, I will work to find a way to help you enjoy learning with the same passion I have in my own areas of interest. I also enjoy editing and proofreading for my friends and siblings in order to make them better writers. In doing so, I keep their long term and short term goals in mind - being an effective writer is about more than getting a good grade on one paper; it's a lifelong commitment to hone one's writing and communication skills.
All aspects of my education have required the ability to write concisely and effectively. In all of my work, both as a teacher and a student, I have refined my skills and would like to help you do the same.
