Over the past 8 years, I have tutored students ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I have many years of experience working with diverse learners who have diverse learning needs and profiles. I have been successful at supporting students with ADHD, Autism, and ASD.
My subject qualifications include Psychology, English, vocabulary, reading and writing. I have 3 years of teaching experience at Oakton Community College. I was the instructor for the Child Development Associate Certificate program. I have several years of experience as a professional trainer for adults, and have worked one on one with children ages 4 years to 12 years for over 8 years, focusing on child development and building learning skills in the areas of English, language arts, vocabulary, reading and writing.
I really love working with students one on one, and tutoring provides an awesome opportunity for me to really focus on the areas of improvements, and the goals that we are striving to achieve. I am a creative thinker and a problem solver, so I will think outside of the box on how to help my students achieve their learning goals. I believe it is important to really connect with my students, so I take the time to get to know them. I am sensitive to my students and to what their current levels are, and to what they want to achieve. I also believe that the student, myself and the parent(s) or guardian(s) work together as a team, so it is important to me that we communicate with each other about all progress, issues, or changes that need to be made. I always look forward to working with my students!
