My name is Tyler and I recently moved to Chicago to pursue my Ph.D. in Computer Science after graduating from Macalester College (MN) with a Mathematics major. I've been a tutor and/or a teaching assistant for the last 3 years, and have enjoyed every minute of it. I've tutored everything from computer science - to economics - to finance - to math - to stats - to political science.
Past students say I am one of the most effective tutors they've had. Why? I believe that tutoring requires a student to truly understand what they are doing before moving on to the next step. That way they can go from (1) learning the basics to (2) mastering advanced material, much faster than otherwise!
I have experience teaching mathematics at all levels. I'm fluent in the tools required for these disciplines (e.g., Python, R). I've had students in the past quickly go from D's to A's in classes after just a couple tutoring sessions with me.
I scored above the 90th percentile in all sections of the Regular GRE (2015). I've also helped many achieve their goals of achieving a 90+ percentile score, and have pushed them into graduate school.
Please contact me if you'd like to learn more about my tutoring-style, or to set up a lesson.
