About Erin

Bio

I have been teaching and tutoring for 12 years. While I like being in the classroom, I really prefer the one-on-one or small group environment. I have taught French, English, AP prep, and SAT/ACT/CAHSEE prep. Writing is my favorite subject to tutor and I think it is such a crucial form of expression.

I lived and studied abroad in France, and have traveled to more than 27 countries around the world.

I have experience as a K-12 Reading/Writing tutor and French teacher. I regularly tutor ACT prep and have designed a method to help students score at least a 28.
College Counseling

I currently teach an SAT/AP prep course to 30 high school seniors at the high school where I work. I also teach a college prep course to 9th graders which includes a college application and financial aid piece. At my previous school, I was the 11th grade team lead in charge of SAT prep, and taught an advisory course to all levels 9-12 to prepare and counsel them on college decisions. I have 9 years experience working at college-preparatory charter high schools which prepare all students to attend 4-year universities. Previous students of my have graduated from schools such as UCLA, Cal Berkeley, Penn, and Princeton.

I have taught English for grades 9 and 10 and have tutored both struggling students and students preparing for the AP English exam. I have designed high school English assessments and worked on projects preparing for the ELA Common Core Assessments.

Understanding, Educated, Efficient Tutor

I recently started sessions with Erin, and so far they've been great! I'm not a good writer but since getting help from Erin I feel a lot more confident with what I write. She's actually takes her time to listen to what you have to say , and she easily understands what your trying to get at. She's very nice and easy to work with, highly recommend!

Knowledgeable, Efficient, and Highly Recommended

Erin is clearly very knowledgeable when it comes to writing. She has given my daughter the tools and confidence she needed to help her really improve her writing skills. My daughter says that she is easy to talk to and is very encouraging! She was afraid of being criticized, as English is not her strong suit, but this was not the case at all. She looks forward to her sessions as the essays have improved so much. We especially appreciated how quickly she was able to correspond and work with us. My daughter was able to communicate with Erin through FaceTime, which she really enjoyed. My daughter and I have been more than pleased with all of her help and would recommend her to anyone looking for some great help from a very friendly person.
