Chinese

I've studied Mandarin Chinese for eight consecutive years. I took introductory Chinese classes at Northside College Preparatory High School in Chicago, studied advanced Mandarin Chinese at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, and studied Mandarin Chinese abroad at Peking University during the Summer of 2012. I graduated from Beloit College in 2013 with a Minor in Asian Languages. While studying at Beijing University, I worked as an English tutor for Chinese middle school students, teaching them the basics of English vocabulary, grammar, writing, and pronunciation. Post-graduation, I’ve done freelance Chinese translation for multiple agencies, including Multilingual Connections and Transn Translation services. Currently I work as a language tutor for a variety of online clients, specializing in introductory Chinese, ESL learning, and English writing.

English

In 2013, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from Beloit College. While pursuing this major, I took several writing courses that involved writing fiction, non-fiction, poetry, argumentative essays, and scripts for short movies and comics. As part of this major's prerequisites, I also took part in many literature courses, ranging from classes on English medieval manuscripts and Victorian publications to Antebellum and post-modern American Literature.

Literature

I graduated from Beloit College in 2013 with a degree in Creative Writing; during my time there, I took courses in English Literature that discussed poetry and novels from the Romantic and Gothic period, penny dreadfuls and 'moral outrage' Modernist fiction from the Victorian era, philosophical Utopian stories, and surreal Post-Modernist works. There were also lots of historical documents about sanitation during the Industrial Revolution, but I don't like to think of those as much.

Writing

After graduating from Beloit College in 2013 with a Bachelor's Creative Writing, I've applied my degree to a variety of freelance content creation jobs, ranging from article writing and ESL lesson design to novels and short stories.
