For years I have assisted friends, colleagues and neighbors with their school work across most subjects, and now I have decided to go pro. Using humor and a solid foundation of knowledge, I can make tutoring sessions engaging. Your child will not dread our sessions, and instead welcome them as an opportunity to laugh and learn. I am not all fun and games, I will get what needs to be accomplished done in a concise and thorough manner, while keeping the environment light and not as stressful.
I am currently enrolled in classes to attain a teaching certification in Secondary Education specializing in History, and am looking to expand my teaching experience through tutoring. I have tutored in the past, pushing roommates and neighbors to learn concepts and events they have had trouble with. Also, a studying tactic I used in college was to teach the material I needed to know for exams and papers to my roommates as a way to better my own understanding of the material to great effect. Not only did I prepare myself, but my roommates could have taken the exam and received a passing grade with such a limited window of instruction.
I want to help others learn and achieve.
