About Warren

Bio

It might seem strange to say, but I am sort of a tutoring expert. When I was a younger student, I was the annoying kid that usually got the highest grade without studying. Maybe I was accidentally annoying my fellow students, but as your tutor, I can be your best friend. I have been told I can tutor anything. I have even tutored in subjects that I had never studied before, including graduate level courses, because my academic foundations and problem-solving abilities are incredibly strong....

It might seem strange to say, but I am sort of a tutoring expert. When I was a younger student, I was the annoying kid that usually got the highest grade without studying. Maybe I was accidentally annoying my fellow students, but as your tutor, I can be your best friend. I have been told I can tutor anything. I have even tutored in subjects that I had never studied before, including graduate level courses, because my academic foundations and problem-solving abilities are incredibly strong.

I completed my master of science from Georgetown University in the medical sciences. I was accepted at Columbia University for my bachelors, but I attended the University of Florida with a full scholarship. I scored 99th percentile on the SAT (including a perfect 800 on SAT Math), about 95th percentile on the MCAT (medical college admissions test), and 94th percentile on the GMAT (MBA admissions test). I scored a perfect 5 out of 5 on 7 different AP examinations: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Computer Science A and Computer Science AB.

I truly have extensive tutoring experience (15+ years). I have tutored with both The Princeton Review and Manhattan Review, but I started tutoring when I was a freshman in high school and have continued pretty much ever since in: math (all levels), economics, science (biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, physiology, MCAT), SAT, ACT and GMAT. I can help younger students needing mentors/organizational skills, students needing more patience and time, and definitely older, busier students who just want to get down to business.

I am extremely serious about obtaining performance results; my goal is for you to succeed. However, I always make tutoring a fun experience and tailor my tutoring to each student's strengths, weaknesses and personality.

Feel free to reach out if I can assist.

ACT Math

ACT Math

My 12+ years experience tutoring began with math. I have extensive knowledge about how to explain math topics from various perspectives in order to help the student improve their scores.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

As a math tutor for over 12 years, I have learned to teach all types of students. Algebra can be fun if we make it a puzzle. Students often only need to strengthen basic math skills, which they never learned or forgot. Doing this will allow them to excel in Algebra.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

As a math tutor for over 12 years, I have learned to teach all types of students. Algebra can be fun if we make it a puzzle. Students often only need to strengthen basic math skills, which they never learned or forgot. Doing this will allow them to excel in Algebra.
Biology

Biology

With my Master of Science in Pharmacology from Georgetown University and my extensive role as a biology tutor, I will be an excellent assistance to you or your child in biology. I am currently tutoring both a high school student in biology (AP and IB) and a graduate student in biology for the MCAT.
Business

Business

I completed my Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Florida. My Major GPA was 3.74.
Calculus

Calculus

While in high school, I excelled in AP coursework in calculus AB and calculus BC. I scored a perfect 5/5 on both exams. In college, I completed Calculus III, Linear Algebra and Ordinary Differential Equations. I have tutored several students in calculus. I have also excelled in Physics with Calculus and Economics with Calculus.
Chemistry

I have completed several years of chemistry coursework. I completed AP chemistry while in high school with a perfect 5/5. I took several years of chemistry (including, general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry) in college and graduate school. I am currently tutoring chemistry for a high school student in AP and IB chemistry. I am also tutoring a student in chemistry for the MCAT.
College Counseling

College Counseling

From high school, I was accepted at Columbia University. I completed my Master's at Georgetown University. I also helped a student through my advice and counseling to gain acceptance to Emory University. Acceptance to college requires several factors. GPA and SAT/ACT scores come first in importance. However, other factors can be equally important, such as the college essay(s), extracurricular activities, sports, awards, volunteer work, diversity, leadership, consistent work, and many others. I would be happy to help any student move through the process of college acceptance from state schools to Ivy League.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

In my 12+ years of experience as a tutor/instructor, I have helped students of all age levels, including elementary school. I have helped with math, reading, writing, history, etc. I know how to help a student enjoy their work and do well. For young children it is important to help them gain discipline, but also to make working fun. Quizzing students and making a game of school work, can often be enough to motivate them and give them confidence to do well.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

My first tutoring position 12 years ago began in elementary math. I truly enjoy seeing students do well by fully understanding these topics. This is the foundation for all future math to come. Mastering this knowledge will ensure success for the future. This is why it is so crucial to have students become experts in elementary math.
Geometry

Geometry

With over 12 years' experience tutoring students of all ages, mainly in mathematics, I have gained significant expertise in seeing what helps a student succeed and what does not. The main issues to overcome with a student is locating their pre-existing gaps in knowledge, which their school teachers never identified. Locating any gaps in knowledge from previous courses and taking the time to thoughtfully fill in these gaps for the student often causes immediate success.
Grammar

Grammar

I have worked with many students on grammar, particularly for the Writing section of the SAT. Grammar can seem confusing at first, but they are patterns which students tend to see fairly quickly. Learning these patterns and just practicing them will achieve great results.
Macroeconomics

Macroeconomics

I have completed my Bachelor's in Business Administration and have excelled in economics courses. I am part of Omicron Delta Epsilon: International Economics Honor Society. I also have tutored several students in various levels of economics: high school and college-level. Additionally, I have tutored for Managerial Economics, which combines economics with calculus.
MCAT

MCAT

I have been tutoring 2 graduate students in MCAT (chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physics, verbal) for several months. Without preparing, I scored a 13/15 on the physical sciences and 13/15 on the biological sciences. I've also taken several years of biology, chemistry, and physics throughout college and graduate work. I completed my M.S. in Pharmacology (medical coursework in physiology and biochemistry, not pharmacy) from Georgetown University. Due to my experience taking the exam, assisting graduate students with the MCAT and completing extensive science coursework to obtain my Masters degree, I am very familiar with both the test format, question types and the material tested. I would be happy to teach you both the material and the strategies to significantly improve your score!
Microeconomics

Microeconomics

I have completed my Bachelor's in Business Administration and have excelled in economics courses. I am part of Omicron Delta Epsilon: International Economics Honor Society. I also have tutored several students in various levels of economics: high school and college-level. Additionally, I have tutored for Managerial Economics, which combines economics with calculus.
Microsoft Windows

Microsoft Windows

I have helped several people to use Windows. It is relatively simple. Explaining a few basic skills can be all one needs to begin to gain the main functionalities. We can review basic use of programs through networking and troubleshooting issues.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry is a difficult topic, but can be broken down into simple easily definable steps. Not only have I taken organic chemistry with lab in college, I have tutored college students in this subject as well. I have also taken both college-level and graduate coursework in biochemistry. I have several Organic Chemistry books with a plethora of example problems to enhance our tutoring.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I obtained my accelerated Master of Science in Pharmacology from a prestigious university. My GPA was a 3.71.
Physics

Physics

I have taken and excelled in several physics courses in college. I have also tutored for students in physics. I am currently tutoring a graduate student for physics on the MCAT. I scored a 13 out of 15 on the physical sciences section of the MCAT (without even preparing).
Physiology

Physiology

I have completed graduate medical coursework in physiology as part of my Master of Science in Pharmacology from Georgetown University. I have extensive knowledge in physiology. I am also tutoring two students in biology, which has substantial physiology in the coursework.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is a crucial step in the development of long term math skills. Taking the time to review material, which may have been misunderstood by the student from previous topics is necessary in order to excel. Also this course lays the groundwork for upcoming courses. Therefore it is important to fully explain all the details of prealgebra to the student.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I love tutoring in math and precalculus is great! I did extremely well in this course and have a lot of experience tutoring in it. Precalculus is a puzzle, similar to picking a lock. You just have to know what's the right "key" to use for different types of problems and you are set to go! Also, it is often useful to review a few topics from the past courses in order to ensure success.
Probability

Probability

Probability can seem difficult at first, but is actually quite fun once you begin to understand the basics. With my over 13 years of experience in math tutoring, I can help you grasp and even enjoy the concepts in probability. No question is too simple to ask.
Proofreading

Proofreading

I have experience working with students to proofread their essays particularly for admissions to college and medical school. This requires beyond grammatical skills, an understanding of how admissions officers think, the ability to make a paper interesting, sophisticated, personal, and still impart or display a life lesson. It must be written by the student but the process of brainstorming and rewriting is an essential key with which I can bring great assistance.
PSAT

PSAT

My years of experience tutoring was enhanced when I tutored for the SAT in all subject areas with The Princeton Review. Additionally, when I was in high school, I became a National Merit Commended Scholar for my score on the PSAT. On the SAT, I scored a perfect 800/800 on the SAT Math and a 740/800 on the SAT Reading while I was in high school.

The Writing portion of the SAT can be a little tricky at first, but once you understand the rules governing this portion, it is actually quite simple. My previous student scored a nearly perfect 790 out of 800 on the Writing Section of the SAT.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I have helped students of all ages in their study and organization skills. These skills are more important than learning any one particular subject, especially for long term success. I believe that creating a schedule, planning out tasks, using a calendar to track important dates and understanding how to properly study and take notes for a class are so important that regardless of the subject I tutor, I will teach these skills alongside the subject material.
Trigonometry

A True Miracle Worker!

Warren is the most amazing tutor. He took my son from an E in Pre-Algebra to an A- on his last test. His teacher literally told me she didn't think tutoring would help my son and to not waste my money to telling me Warren was the best decision ever! My son has a lot of neurological issues and Warren is very patient. Warren communicates with my son and makes him want to learn. Not only is he a tutor, but a mentor. My son looks up to him and actually looks forward to learning a subject he is completely lost in. Warren has helped him find his way and is a true miracle worker! On top of all this, my son said "Warren is the coolest dude ever!" :) His Exact Words!

Warren is the best!

Warren and I worked on some finance curriculum to prepare me for a finance class. He does a great job of not going to fast and showing how he is solving problems. Thanks a ton, Warren!

Great Guy and Brilliant Tutor

Warren is a brilliant man who can figure out just about any work you have. He has helped me with writing, critical thinking, and math. He has helped me the most with upper-level economics courses such as Intermediate Microeconomic Theory and Mathematical Economics. He can explain the economics concepts and math to me better than any of the TAs I've interacted with and is even more knowledgeable than my school's Econ Lab. Warren is also very personable, which makes it easier to learn from him. I have confidence that he will be able to help me with all of my schoolwork regardless of the subject.
