ACT English is a test for high school students looking to apply for college. The emphasis however, is on practical application of these concepts, and not on learning grammar rules by rote.

ACT reading involves the reading of texts on a variety of topics and at the appropriate difficulty level. After that, there are a variety of questions that the student answers, based on his/her understanding of these texts. So, while the rules of grammar, meanings of words and expressions, etc., may not be asked in a direct way, the ACT reading section involves making answer choices based on contextual clues, and the student's knowledge of English is tested this way. The student needs to read fluently, and with understanding, and answer all questions, whether multiple choice or writing down answers, based on the understanding of the passages.

Students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or ADHD work best in a quiet environment with minimum distractions. During my course of study to gain my teaching license, I have taken courses in Psychology and Special Education. These courses, as well as my experience working with students who have been diagnosed with ADHD, has helped me develop skills and techniques suited to students who may be hyperactive. I am currently working with three students with ADHD/ADD, and we enjoy a clear, respectful relationship, break down our tasks into manageable chunks, and have progressed academically as well as behaviorally. ACT English is a test for high school students looking to apply for college. I am qualified and experienced in training my students for all aspects of it- selecting the correct choices, reading, organizing, strategy,using correct grammar, punctuation, etc. Deciphering the meanings of words from contextual clues, writing on a particular topic, adding, revising, including the correct ideas, punctuation- all of these are tested through the ACT. The emphasis however, is on practical application of these concepts, and not on learning grammar rules by rote.

ACT reading involves the reading of texts on a variety of topics and at the appropriate difficulty level. After that, there are a variety of questions that the student answers, based on his/her understanding of these texts. So, while the rules of grammar, meanings of words and expressions, etc., may not be asked in a direct way, the ACT reading section involves making answer choices based on contextual clues, and the student's knowledge of English is tested this way. The student needs to read fluently, and with understanding, and answer all questions, whether multiple choice or writing down answers, based on the understanding of the passages.

The GRE is a test required to qualify for Masters level studies. The verbal reasoning and analytical writing sections require the student to synthesize ideas, to relate different words and concepts, to analyze and apply grammar and language rules, and demonstrate reading comprehension and vocabulary skills. As a Language Arts specialist, I guide my students to learn to identify the main ideas of the reading passages, to make relevant notes as they read, and to approach sentence completion tasks with a pre-determined strategy. The SAT Critical Reading section is designed in a manner that time is always tight, and I teach my students strategies such as skimming, summarizing and identifying main ideas as they read, and underlining relevant portions of the texts. Line references and keywords are important parts of the questions, and helps the student identify correct answer choices quickly. Therefore, I train my students to read the questions carefully, and to predict answers even before they read all the answer choices. This strategy too saves them valuable time on the test. Also, I train my students to identify incorrect answer choices that are deliberately misleading. My Liberal Arts educational background, and years of tutoring experience have helped me train scores of students to improve their SAT Reading test scores.

As a Language Arts teacher specializing in teaching Reading, English and Writing Skills for the SAT, I teach my students to interpret SAT writing prompts correctly. Great tutor

I was sent by my German company, to learn Business English. Chhavi assessed my level at once, and adapted her teaching to my knowledge and built on it.
