Hi!

I'm Daniel, and I'm here to help students excel in the following subjects: computer science, object-oriented programming, scripting languages, elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, linear algebra, discrete mathematics, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, and essay writing.

Additionally, here's more about me:

I am a special education teacher in Chicago in the Chicago Public School district, and I primarily teach middle school students at a K-8 school in the Old Town/Lincoln Park neighborhood. In my teaching career thus far, I've taught math mostly, though I do have experience teaching ELA (English Language Arts) as well. Before my career in education, I worked as Software Support for an algorithmic trading company where we specialized in providing automated trade execution for institutional clients trading in forex. In this role, I programmed almost exclusively in Java and SQL.

Regarding my educational experience, I most recently received a Master of Education in Special Education degree from the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC). During this experience I concurrently earned the LBS1 endorsement, which allows me to teach students with disabilities in various settings. I am also a graduate of Roosevelt University in Chicago where I earned a master's degree in Computer Science, and I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology. While studying computer science in grad school, most of my coursework used Java as the foundation for programming, and in this experience I learned theoretical computer science, discrete mathematics, linear algebra, non-linear algebra, data analysis, predictive analytics, advanced concepts in Java, scripting languages, and advanced topics in object-oriented programming in general.

Please feel free to contact me to schedule a session, or if you have any questions/concerns. Regardless, I thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Computer Science

I am currently a graduate student at Roosevelt University in Chicago studying computer science, and I have put myself on course to become a Software Engineer specializing in developing expert systems. I have taken courses at both Loyola University in Chicago and now Roosevelt Univeristy. As a result, I am well-versed in the theoretical concepts of computer science and I am eager to share my knowledge with whom ever is trying to increase their knowledge in the subject.

Very helpful and patient

When I contacted Daniel, he responded quickily. Daniel was punctual. Helped my son understand Java. Took extra time with him. Very happy with him. We'll use him again.

Methods - sort less than n

Danny helped me understand the sorting process. He explained copying the array and working with that array to find the n. I like the way he eloquently explains each task for the programs.
