I am a Computer Science student at Loyola University Chicago with a strong interest in mathematics, English, and helping students build confidence in their academic skills. I currently tutor a 7-year-old second-grade student through one-on-one online sessions on Google Meet. I tutor him five days a week, usually for about an hour and a half per session. During our sessions, I work through lessons step-by-step, explain concepts in simple terms, and adjust the pace depending on what he finds easy or challenging.
My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. In math, I break problems into smaller steps and encourage students to explain their thinking so they can become more confident and independent problem solvers. For English, I can provide support with reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and communication. I also offer ESL support. As a bilingual student, I understand the process of learning and using more than one language, and I recently earned the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy in Urdu and English. I can use this experience to help English learners practice communication, develop vocabulary, and become more comfortable with English.
I enjoy working with younger students and creating a comfortable environment where they can ask questions without feeling pressured. My goal is to make each session engaging and understandable while helping students develop skills they can use independently. I believe that with patience, clear explanations, and consistent practice, students can make meaningful progress and feel more confident in their abilities.
