I recently graduated from Knox College with a double major in Data Science and Economics, and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Economics and Quantitative Analysis at DePaul University's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business, with the long term goal of continuing on to a PhD in Economics. Throughout my undergraduate studies I built a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and applied economic theory, and I worked as a teaching assistant for a business course where I regularly helped students work through quantitative material and understand core concepts rather than just memorize formulas.
My coursework and research experience have given me depth across the areas I plan to tutor. I have worked extensively with calculus, statistics, and econometrics, including building forecasting models using time series data and macroeconomic indicators for my senior capstone project. I have also studied corporate finance and financial modeling, and I am comfortable working through problems involving valuation, financial statement analysis, and quantitative reasoning more broadly. My approach to tutoring is to start from where a student currently is, identify exactly where the confusion begins, and rebuild understanding step by step using clear explanations and worked examples rather than rushing through material.
I tutored classmates informally throughout college and found that I enjoy the process of breaking down dense material into something manageable, especially for subjects like math and economics that can feel abstract until the underlying logic clicks. Whether a student needs help with a specific problem set, is preparing for an exam, or wants to build a more solid foundation before moving on to harder material, I focus on patience, clarity, and making sure concepts genuinely make sense rather than just getting through the session.
