I am an experienced educator and psychology professional who believes that effective tutoring is about more than helping a student get the right answer. My goal is to help students understand how they learn, strengthen their academic skills, and develop the confidence to approach challenging material independently. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and have extensive experience working with students in educational settings, including classroom teaching, instructional leadership, and student support.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students with a wide range of learning styles, strengths, and academic needs. My approach is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I take time to understand where a student is getting stuck, break complex information into manageable pieces, and adjust my explanations until we find an approach that makes sense to them. I also understand that frustration, anxiety, confidence, motivation, and previous school experiences can influence how students engage with learning.
I especially enjoy helping students strengthen reading, writing, critical thinking, psychology, and study or organizational skills. I want students to leave our sessions with more than completed assignments—I want them to understand the material, recognize their own capabilities, and have strategies they can use long after our tutoring session ends. Whether a student needs help catching up, staying on track, preparing for an assignment, or simply understanding something that hasn’t clicked yet, I strive to create a supportive environment where asking questions and making mistakes are part of the learning process.
