I went to UW-Madison where I earned an undergraduate degree in Personal Finance & Economics with a certificate in business. I went to grad school at UW-Madison where I earned my Master's of Science in Finance, Investment, and Banking. I have worked in corporate finance and now asset management for 3 years. I was previously a teaching assistant for finance Master's students as well as a peer mentor/tutor for students. This was both a classroom and one on one experience. I also have passed level 1 of my CFA and am working towards level 2.
My #1 goal is to make learning exciting and practical. If the student doesn't understand why they are learning or aren't enjoying themselves while learning, it simply does not work. So, I prioritize feedback from the student and attempt to make the lessons as interesting and interactive as possible. I am understanding of all sorts of learning styles. I am also extremely patient as I know how difficult some of these subjects are. I think most importantly, a student's success is my success. When a student embraces a subject and begins to improve, there is no better feeling. I am doing this because I have a true, deep-seated passion to help. And I believe I am extremely well-equipped. Many past teachers/tutors simply do not care whether or not the student is absorbing the material. To me, that is all that matters.
