Hi! I’m Sruthi, and I graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting and a minor in Spanish. I first started tutoring in high school and quickly discovered how much I genuinely enjoy helping students understand subjects that initially feel overwhelming. I continued tutoring throughout college, working with Indiana University students as well as local middle and high school students in math and accounting. I have 8+ years of tutoring experience and have worked with students in middle school math, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, introductory college math, and accounting.
My approach to tutoring is centered around understanding rather than memorization. I like to break complicated concepts into small, manageable pieces so students can truly digest the material before moving on to practice problems. Once we build a strong foundation, I work through examples with students and gradually increase the difficulty as their confidence grows. Every student learns differently, so I adjust my pace and teaching style based on what works best for each individual. Whether a student is preparing for an exam, catching up in class, completing homework, or simply looking to build confidence, my goal is to create a supportive environment where questions are always welcome.
I also believe tutoring is a team effort. I’m happy to work with class notes, homework, textbooks, study guides, and other materials students are already using so our lessons directly support what they are learning in school. Most importantly, I want students to leave each session feeling more confident and capable of solving problems independently. Seeing a concept finally “click” for a student is one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring for me, and I look forward to helping your student reach their goals!
