I am looking for new clients in the Chicago area, or to tutor online. I have a diverse range of tutoring experience teaching science, math, and general study-skills.
As a high schooler I volunteered as a tutor for kids from under-priviledged communities. I provided after-school math tutoring building up kids that had fallen behind, and instilling in them the confidence that they are able to do math. I also volunteered at a program run through the local 4H which brought kids into nature and taught them about the natural sciences. As part of that program I designed and taught my own lesson plans to groups of over 30 students. I also started a club at my high school to help my peers prepare or the SAT.
In college I worked for the University of Michigan's Mathematics Learning Center, providing walk-in tutoring to Michigan students. I taught pre-caluculus, Calculus, Multi-Variate Calculuc, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra. I balanced the needs of students from many different mathematical backgrounds, and with a variety of learning disabilities including ADHD. Throughout the years I have worked as a private tutor with 8 different clients providing each with a personalized approach.
