Hello! My name is Jeremy, and I am a licensed elementary teacher with 10 years of classroom experience teaching students in grades 2 through 5. I currently teach 3rd Grade Math and Science at Skinner North Classical School in Chicago, one of the city's highest-performing public elementary schools. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master's degree in Education, and I am currently completing additional graduate coursework in Educational Leadership and English as a Second Language (ESL).
Teaching in a classical school has given me extensive experience working with an accelerated curriculum and high academic expectations. I regularly teach students who are working one or more grade levels above traditional standards while also supporting students who need additional intervention. My experience allows me to effectively challenge advanced learners, strengthen foundational skills, and prepare students for the rigor of classical and selective enrollment schools.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly interactive. Every tutoring session is tailored to the individual student's needs, strengths, and goals. I use a combination of explicit instruction, guided practice, problem solving, and engaging activities to help students build confidence while developing a deep understanding of concepts. Whether your student needs additional support, wants to stay ahead over the summer, or is looking for enrichment beyond the classroom, I strive to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable.
I specialize in elementary mathematics, reading, writing, enrichment, and preparation for classical and selective enrollment schools for students in grades K through 5. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students become confident, independent learners who enjoy being challenged. I look forward to partnering with your family to help your student reach their full potential.
