I recently graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Physics and a 3.9 GPA, and I'll be starting a Master's program in Electrical Engineering at UCLA this fall. Throughout my undergraduate studies, I developed a strong foundation not just in physics, but in the math that underlies it, from algebra and trigonometry through multivariable calculus and PDEs.
I have three years of experience tutoring high school students in math and physics, working one-on-one to help them build genuine understanding rather than just memorize formulas. My approach focuses on meeting students where they are, breaking down concepts into intuitive pieces, and connecting new material to things they already know. I'm equally comfortable helping a student catch up on material they're struggling with or pushing ahead with someone aiming for advanced coursework or a higher test score.
In addition to physics and math, I offer ACT and SAT prep, particularly for the math and science sections, where I can draw on my technical background to help students build both content knowledge and test-taking strategy. I'm available for both in-person sessions and virtual sessions over Zoom, whatever works best for the student and family. I genuinely enjoy this work and look forward to helping students build confidence in subjects that can otherwise feel intimidating.
