Hi, I’m Grace! I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a specialization in bilingual care! I’m passionate about learning new languages and exploring different cultures, and I love sharing that passion with others.

While becoming fluent in Spanish, I received an Excellence in Spanish award for my language learning skills and my ability to adapt quickly to a new language and culture. I went on to use these experiences abroad as a teaching assistant in an ESL classroom in Spain, volunteer in a Spanish–English bilingual preschool, and later specialize in bilingual care during my Master’s program, where I completed over 100 hours of clinical work in Spanish evaluating and treating communication and swallowing disorders. Through all of these experiences, I’ve learned that everyone learns differently and at their own pace. As a tutor, I take time to understand your learning style so I can tailor lessons to your goals, build your confidence, and help you succeed in learning a new language.

Outside of languages, I also have a strong background in dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary. I’ve taught at a dance studio, held leadership roles in dance programs, and was part of a dance team for six years. I’d love to offer private lessons or share tips if you’re interested! I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your goals. Thank you!

During high school, I specialized in dance, was in the advanced dance program, and was on our competitive dance team for 2 years. Once I got to college, I was on a dance team for 3 years and president of that dance team for 2 years. In graduate school, I became a dance instructor and taught ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop, for children ages 2-18 at a dance studio. Additionally, throughout all of these experiences, I also volunteered and led numerous dance camps for children, held private lessons, and spent time refining my own dance skills.

As a newly certified Speech-Language Pathology Fellow, I have extensive experience supporting children in school settings with speech and language development. Through this work, I help students strengthen foundational language skills such as grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, reading, writing, and communication—skills that directly support academic success and can be applied to tutoring across a variety of subjects. In addition, I served as an assistant teacher in a 1st-grade ESL classroom while living in Seville, Spain. In this role, I helped plan lessons, grade assignments, provide individualized support during class, and create an engaging learning environment for students developing their English language skills. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt instruction to each student's unique learning style and make learning both effective and enjoyable.

I became fluent in my second language while studying abroad in Spain. This experience allowed me to understand what the language learning process is like and how difficult it can be. Thanks to the help of people at my university, my host family, and a strong support system, I quickly learned how to best master my second language. I would love to help my students feel the same way and learn to their full potential! I also have experience as a teaching assistant in multiple ESL classrooms.
Speech

Speech

I received my Master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Texas at Austin. I will be completing my clinical fellowship at Northwestern Medicine in the Fall in speech-language pathology with a specialization in voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders. I have experience helping patients of all ages, in multiple settings, and with various types of communication and swallowing disorders.
