Hey, I'm Hysan a Mechanical Engineering student at UIC. Math has been at the center of everything I've studied, from College Algebra and Precalculus all the way through Calc I, II, III, and Differential Equations. When you bring me something you're stuck on, I'm not figuring it out for the first time. I've been through those exact courses, struggled through those same concepts, and came out actually understanding them.
I've spent the last three years helping friends and classmates get through math, and somewhere along the way it turned into something I genuinely enjoy. What I've learned is that most people aren't bad at math something just wasn't explained in a way that made sense, and it never got fixed. When we work together, I look at where you are and what your curriculum looks like, then we build a plan around that. We work through what you're behind on, stay on top of what's current, and I make sure you're not just following steps blindly. I tie concepts to real world examples whenever I can, because that's when things actually stick.
My engineering background matters here because math isn't abstract to me I apply it constantly. In engineering, a weak foundation catches up with you, so I've learned to build things right from the ground up. For parents, I'll be straightforward as I take your student's progress seriously. I'm not here to just get them through a quiz. I want them to genuinely understand the material, feel less stressed about it, and build real confidence over time. I'll show up prepared, be honest about where they stand, and put in the work to get them where they need to be.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Illinois Chicago with a completed college math sequence from College Algebra through Differential Equations. Over the past three years, I've informally tutored peers and younger students in algebra, building strong intuition for where students typically get stuck. My engineering coursework means I approach algebra not just as abstract rules, but as a practical tool which helps students see the why behind what they're learning. I focus on building real understanding so concepts stick long-term, not just for the next test.
Calculus

Calculus

I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at UIC who has completed the full calculus sequence, Calculus I through Differential Equations, and actively applies these concepts in coursework like Dynamics and Thermodynamics. That real-world context is something I bring into tutoring. I can show students not just how to solve a problem, but why the math matters and where it shows up in the real world. Over 3+ years of tutoring experience, I've helped students work through limits, derivatives, integrals, and series by building genuine understanding rather than just learning formulas. Whether a student is in AP Calc or a college course, I focus on making the concepts intuitive first, then mechanical execution follows naturally.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Illinois Chicago with a strong foundation built on years of math coursework, from the basics all the way through Differential Equations. I've spent 3+ years tutoring students in math, and I know how to break down foundational concepts like number sense, fractions, and basic operations in ways that actually click. I believe getting elementary math right is one of the most important steps in a student's education, since everything later builds on it. My goal is always to make sure students feel confident and genuinely understand the material, not just memorize steps.
