About Bryce

Bio

I'm Bryce, and I am looking forward to helping with all kinds of problems! I graduated cum laude from Arizona State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in May 2025 and started a Ph.D. program in Chemical Engineering at UIC in Fall 2025. Through my Ph.D. position, I worked as a teaching assistant for an introductory undergrad Chemical Engineering course for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. I'm Bryce, and I am looking forward to helping with all kinds of problems! I graduated cum laude from Arizona State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in May 2025 and started a Ph.D. program in Chemical Engineering at UIC in Fall 2025. Through my Ph.D. position, I worked as a teaching assistant for an introductory undergrad Chemical Engineering course for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. In addition to school, I also worked part-time at Mathnasium, a Math tutoring center, where I started as an instructor in August 2025 and was promoted to Assistant Center Director in February 2026. All of these experiences have given me lots of valuable insights into teaching, and have evolved how I view educating.

I have interacted with students in a teaching capacity as young as pre-K and as old as 40+ year old students returning to undergraduate studies. This wide breadth of experiences has made me more versatile and emphasized the importance of continuing to learn at all ages. It has kept me sharp and ready to take on any challenges I might face! I am especially proficient in teaching elementary math, as well as high school Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and am also capable of helping with college level math and science courses like Calculus, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra.

ACT Math

ACT Math

I have completed advanced math courses in college, including all three semesters of Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential equations. I have also more recently expanded my math abilities both through graduate level courses on applied mathematics, as well as through my time teaching at Mathnasium. These experiences make me highly qualified to teach high school level math. I also received a score of 31 on the ACT when I took it in High School.

I scored a 31 on the ACT before entering college, and since then have vastly expanded my grasp of advanced science. In high school, I took and excelled in AP Chemistry, Honors Biology, and more engineering based courses. Through college, I continued practicing my scientific skills through application.

Through my time at Mathnasium, I have gained significant experience in tutoring high school and junior high students in a variety of math subjects. I have completed a rigorous 4 year bachelors program in Chemical Engineering, where I also acted as a teaching assistant for both chemistry and chemical engineering courses over 2 years. I am also currently a PhD student in Chemical Engineering, and worked as a teaching assistant for the 2025-2026 school year.

I have taken extensive coursework in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. I have received excelling grades in both high school and college-level chemistry courses. I have completed both semesters of general chemistry, both semester of organic chemistry, and have also taken courses in analytical chemistry.

I have served as a tutor and now Assistant Center Director at Mathnasium tutoring center since September of last year. Through this role, I have gained extensive experience both in elementary math instruction and also a diagnostic and prescriptive to addressing gaps in math skills, and preparing students for future grades. Through this role, I have watch students that started a year behind move to being ahead of their class rapidly.

I have extensive teaching experience in the hard sciences and math. This experience, combined with my strong grasp of scientific principles, has allowed me to develop my ability to teach extensively. While my education experience for younger students has focused more on math than science, my scientific knowledge and education background makes me a strong candidate to teach science to kids!
