I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology in 2020 before beginning medical school at Rush University Medical College in Chicago, where I am currently a fourth-year medical student. Throughout medical school, I have consistently focused on developing strong study strategies and efficient learning techniques, successfully passing Step 1 and scoring in the 93rd percentile on Step 2. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in both the sciences and critical thinking, which I now use to help students simplify difficult concepts and approach exams with confidence.
Teaching and mentorship have been important parts of my education and professional experiences for many years. I serve as a peer advisor for the medical school class below me, where I regularly provide guidance on study techniques, time management, and navigating the demands of medical education. Prior to medical school, I worked as an Anatomy and Physiology teaching assistant, hosting review sessions and helping students strengthen their understanding of complex material. I have also been an EMT since I was a high school junior and later helped teach and tutor students in an EMT training program both during and after college. These experiences taught me how to adapt my teaching style to different learners, whether working one-on-one or in group settings with high school, college, or medical students.
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students reach the moment when a difficult topic finally clicks. I genuinely enjoy breaking down challenging concepts into manageable pieces and finding different ways to explain material until it makes sense for the student. Seeing that moment of realization and growing confidence is incredibly rewarding to me, and I strive to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging with the material.
