I am a certified elementary educator with 18 years of teaching experience in Chicago Public Schools, where I currently work with elementary students in reading, writing, and mathematics. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of learners, including students who need additional academic support, students who struggle with confidence in school, and students looking for enrichment and challenge. My classroom experience has given me a strong understanding of how children learn at different developmental stages and how to adapt instruction to meet their individual needs.

I specialize in early literacy, reading comprehension, writing development, and elementary math fluency for students in grades K–5. I have experience creating engaging lessons, intervention supports, and skill-building activities that help students strengthen foundational skills while also building independence and confidence. In both classroom and one-on-one settings, I focus on making learning approachable and encouraging so students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and growing from mistakes.

My tutoring approach is patient, structured, and relationship-based. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and successful, so I work hard to create lessons that are interactive, targeted, and engaging. I use a combination of direct instruction, guided practice, games, fluency activities, and real-world connections to help students stay motivated and make meaningful progress. Whether a student needs help catching up, staying on track, or building stronger academic habits, my goal is always to help them grow in both skill and confidence.
